Code of Conduct

Welcome to the Chamarel Geopark. To ensure a pleasant and safe experience for all visitors while preserving the unique natural environment, we kindly ask you to adhere to the following guidelines:

General Rules


1. Respect for Nature:

  • Do not pick, damage, or remove any plants, flowers, rocks, or soil.
  • Feeding, disturbing, or harming animals is strictly prohibited.

2. Preservation of the Site:

  • Littering is forbidden. Please dispose of waste in designated bins or take it with you when leaving.
  • Graffiti, carvings, or any other form of vandalism on rocks, trees, or park structures are prohibited.

3. Photography and Filming:

  • Recreational photography is allowed, but commercial photo or video shoots require prior approval from the park’s management.
  • Drones are not permitted, unless authorized in advance.


Visitor Behavior

4. Pathways and Zones:

  • Stay on marked trails and paths. Off-trail walking is not allowed to prevent erosion and protect fragile areas.
  • Visitors must limit themselves to the perimeter of the dunes. Walking on the Coloured Earth or collecting samples is strictly prohibited.

5. Noise and Disturbance:

  • Keep noise levels to a minimum to respect other visitors and the wildlife.
  • Amplified music or loud gatherings are not allowed.


Safety Measures

6. Children:

  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • Strollers may be restricted in certain areas due to uneven terrain.

7. Prohibited Items:

  • Smoking, alcohol, and the use of drugs are strictly prohibited.
  • Weapons or any dangerous items are not allowed within the park premises.
  • Pets are not allowed, except for registered service animals.

8. Tortoise Park:

  • Visitors are not permitted to enter the tortoise park or feed the reptiles. The tortoises have specialized diets, and improper feeding can harm their health.
  • To avoid injury, maintain a respectful distance from the tortoises at all times.

9. Emergencies:

  • In case of an emergency, please inform park staff or use the provided emergency contact points.

10.Tickets and Entry:

  • The ticket holder agrees to abide by the rules displayed onsite and on our official website.
  • Tickets are valid for a single entry on the specified date and cannot be transferred, resold, or refunded.

  • Visitors must not walk on the Coloured Earth or collect samples.
  • For your own and others’ enjoyment, we ask for your cooperation in maintaining cleanliness across the site.
